Woman of the Year






Ms. Sandra Renne Watson, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, graduated from Central High in 1975.  She worked at the US Postal Service for a period of 15 years and then received a Certified Nurse Assistant Certification.  Now, Sandra is employed at the Centerpoint Medical Center and working towards a BS in Nursing at the Penn Valley Community College.

During the parenting years and while raising three children, she participated in volunteer programs for the young.  Those organizations being the Boy and Girl Scouts of America leader and Day Camp Volunteer; a Sunday School Teacher Aide and First Aide Volunteer at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri, being a conscience citizen, she also volunteered for the Mark Bryant.

In 1993, she began her jounrney with the American Business Women of America.  As one of the chargered members, she held offices as treasurer and secretary during the years.  She successfully chaired the anniversay, nominating, bulletin (co-chair), and fundraising committees.  Along with being an alternate, delegate to the ABWA Kansas City Area Council.  For the ABWA Sandra has held other positions, which include but not limited to:

On the personal front, Sandra's hobbies are singing, skating and sewing.  She keeps her interest alive by taking vocal lessons, skating with her family and sewing.  Sandra has three adult children Cleon, Donald and Dondra.  Four grandchildren Trevon, Aiyana, Dallas and Skylar.

Business Woman





Toni Oliver is a native of Kansas City, Missouri.  She is an alumnus of Lincoln High School, Class of 67', the Conservatory of Music of Kansas City (1956-1968), and Penn Valley Community College Class of '93 graduating with an Associate in Fine Arts.  Her musical career has spanned such genres as gospel, jazz and blues.  As the private instructor of the Oliver School of Music, her students' have received classical and theoretical instruction in music; and as it relates to piano performance, many students are awarded full ride scholarships in collegiate instrutions.  With more than 40 years in the musical field, she has participated in gospel groups, a jazz vocalist, chorale director, gospel musician, private instructor and musical producer.  Presently, she serves on the board of directos of the Mutual Musician Foundation and is the founder/CEO of the Oliver School of Music, which celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2010.
